BLOODLINES

Alydar: Her Great Grand Father

Sometimes life can surpise you when you least expect it. I have to extend a HUGE thank you to Dick and Peggy Hopwood for trusting in me and giving me this mare. She is a half sister to my favorite riding gelding Hollywoods Visual, and has proven herself as an athlete on the track. Her late great sire Hollywood Reporter who was owned by Dick and Peggy and is one of the greatest Arizona Racing sires of all time. Hollywood Reporter is by Wayne Lukas' great stud Saratoga Six who was an earner of $304K, and a son of the great Alydar. This makes this mare a great grand daughter of Alydar who ran head to head with the last Triple Crown winner Affirmed. This mare's dam is My Sweet Love Rose who raced until she was eight years old and earned over $90K on the track, she is a grand daughter of European Racing Champion Habitat. ShesGunnaBeAStar is a money earner herself, and quite accomplished on the track earning $35,000 in 31 starts. This mare has an amazing amount of muscle for a thoroughbred and really nice short back with a huge hip. She throws TONS of muscle on her foals and that gorgeous head. She will be quite the cross on our APHA and AQHA stallion. This mare will live the rest of her life out spoiled at our place. She truly is a blessing, and I am forever in debt to Dick and Peggy Hopwood for this mare.
